Stunning Sunset Sunrise – Kuakata Sea Beach, Bangladesh
Kuakata Beach offers spectacular sunrise and sunset views over the Bay of Bengal.
This video is a collection of raw clips from our visits in 2022-2023.
Ibrahim and I traveled by Tuk Tuk or Rickshaw from Alipur to Kuakata Beach. His family lives about four kilometers north of Kuakata in Alipur Mohipur, a major fishing center in the south.
Kuakata is Bangladesh’s second-largest beach after Cox’s Bazar. It’s a natural wonder with a peaceful, sandy shore that is ideal for relaxation and family outings. The beach is renowned throughout the subcontinent for its beauty.
Kuakata has a pleasant tropical climate that is typical of Bangladesh. Rain helps keep temperatures mild, making the area suitable for visiting year-round. The average temperature is 25.9°C. The best time to visit is from January to April, during the dry season.
Ibrahim and I enjoyed long walks, taking selfies, and meeting friends for fish fries. Enjoy!
Kuakata is a town in southern Bangladesh with a long, sandy beach where you can watch the sunrise and sunset. The name comes from ‘kua,’ meaning ‘well,’ which was dug by early Rakhine settlers looking for drinking water. It is a place of pilgrimage for Hindu and Buddhist communities, with festivals like ‘Rush Purnima’ and ‘Maghi Purnima.’ Visitors can also see a 100-year-old Buddhist temple and historic wells. Kuakata has a pleasant tropical climate, similar to other parts of Bangladesh.
The rain keeps it cool, making it a good place to visit year-round. There is a brief two-month period that doesn’t significantly change the weather. The average temperature is 25.9°C, ideal for trips. January is the driest month, and the best time to visit is from January to April when you can enjoy dry and wet weather.
Kuakata is a town in southern Bangladesh famous for its beautiful beach, which stretches 18 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide. This beach offers clear sunrise and sunset views over the Bay of Bengal. Kuakata comes from the Bengali word ‘kua,’ meaning ‘well,’ referring to wells dug by early Rakhine settlers from Myanmar searching for drinking water in the 18th century. This tradition continues today.
Kuakata is also a pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists, who gather here during the ‘Rush Purnima’ and ‘Maghi Purnima’ festivals to take holy baths and enjoy traditional fairs. Visitors can also see a 100-year-old Buddhist temple with a Gautama Buddha statue and two historic wells. Source- Wikipedia

Ibrahim and I would walk for miles, taking endless selfies and meeting with his friends for a fish fry.
In Kuakata's embrace, where land meets sea,
A dance of dawn and dusk unfolds so free.
The Bay of Bengal whispers tales of old,
In hues of amber, pink, and molten gold.
Ibrahim and I journeyed hand in hand,
From Alipur to Kuakata’s sand.
A tuk-tuk bumping on the winding way,
To where the sun and moon in tandem play.
This beach, where Rakhine settlers once did dwell,
Dug deep for water, finding life in wells.
Their legacy in “Kuakata” stays,
A name that echoes through the sunlit haze.
The tranquil shore, a stretch of silken grace,
Eighteen kilometers of a warm embrace.
Where sunrise and sunset paint the skies,
A living canvas for our wandering eyes.
The gentle waves lap stories on the sand,
As pilgrims gather, hand in fervent hand.
For Rush Purnima and Maghi’s sacred call,
In Kuakata, faith and nature enthrall.
A temple old, a century has stood,
With Buddha’s gaze upon the tranquil wood.
Historic wells murmur of times before,
A testament to what’s revered and pure.
We strolled along the beach with friends in tow,
For fish fries, laughter, and the sunset’s glow.
In every glance, the vibrant colors blend,
A stunning scene that seems to never end.
So here’s to Kuakata, where the earth whispers,
With every sunrise, every sunset shimmers.
In Bangladesh’s heart, this beach does lay,
A place where dreams and memories will stay.
