Take a Cycle Rickshaw!

In this video, Ibrahim and I experienced exciting rickshaw rides throughout Bangladesh’s stunning landscapes. From bustling cities to serene countryside, this short video captures the beauty of travel in an exotic land.

See how we experienced Bangladesh like a local. Get a glimpse of authentic Bangladeshi culture.

Cycle rickshaws are human-powered by pedalling.

Experiencing these thin, weathered, stress-faced guys peddling Ibrahim and me as we weaved through a cacophony of fast-moving obstacles on rough roads, sometimes against traffic, freaked me out.

I felt somewhat ashamed getting about town via the oppressive manual labour of some poor, suffering soul with no other option for survival. Cycle rickshaws are human-powered by pedalling.

At times, I had to pinch myself in amazement that I had finally built up the courage to hop on a plane, leave the comfort of Toronto, Canada, and immerse myself in Bangladeshi culture.

There are many ways to uncover your unique creative path, each leading to a new experience, insight, and discovery.

I chose a 30-day experiment to pursue creative freedom by travelling to a faraway land, which changed my worldview.

I highly recommend you travel and immerse yourself in a different culture. Take a deep breath, let go of fear, and permit yourself to explore.

What’s holding you back from unleashing your creative potential?

Who says you can't CREATE a New Career Path at ANY Age!

The secret, my friend, is to seek inspiration from the world, whether it's culture, the arts, travel, or befriending someone new.

Taking a creative path will help you overcome fear and doubt and unlock the door to new ideas and possibilities.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little encouragement to get started. Read an inspiring story or meet someone who is living their creative path.

Take a deep breath, let go of fear, and permit yourself to explore. Whatever it is, take that first step and open yourself up to a world of possibility and potential.

According to Wikipedia, Cycle rickshaws (রিকশা riksha) are the most popular modes of transport in Bangladesh. They are available for hire throughout the country, including the capital city, Dhaka, known as the “Rickshaw Capital of the World.” They are either pedal or motor-powered. They were introduced here in 1938, and by the end of the 20th century, there were 300,000+ cycle rickshaws in Dhaka.

Approximately 400,000 cycle rickshaws run daily in Bangladesh. They are more convenient than the country’s other public transport modes, such as auto rickshaws, cabs, and buses.

They are primarily convertible, decorated rickshaws with folding hoods. They are the only vehicles that can be driven in many city neighbourhoods with narrow streets and lanes.

However, increasing traffic congestion and collisions have led to banning rickshaws on many major roads in the city. Urban employment in Bangladesh also largely depends on cycle rickshaws. Because of inflation and unemployment in the rural areas, people from villages crowd into the cities to become rickshaw drivers, locally called the riksha-wala (রিকশাওয়ালা)

“It is HE who made the earth manageable for you, so travel it’s regions, and eat of HIS provisions.
To HIM is the Resurgence.”
Quran 67;15

We have captured these 'Interesting Experiences" using an iPhone or drone throughout our travels.

Ibrahim is skilled at compiling clips, adding music, and using special effects to create short pieces for social media sharing.

On the other hand, I prefer to use Final Cut Pro but rarely find the time, so I post raw cuts instead.

Either way, enjoy these spontaneously taken videos.

Be inspired by the remarkable diversity Allah has created for us on planet Earth. Inshallah, you will capture and share your own stories.
